
Alaskan-Avi Art was started to celebrate the
everyday occurrences in the daily life of Alaska's
aviation industry. From doing the periodic weather-check
in a DeHavilland DHC-2 Beaver before a day of Misty
Fjords flight seeing tours in Ketchikan ("Taking a look...)
to "landing" on a river and rolling out onto the bank in a
Piper PA-18A-150 Super Cub on tundra tires to begin a
day of fly-fishing ("Water-skiing Alaskan-Style"), each
print depicts the here and now of the true Alaskan
aviation experience.
The artist, Lana West, is a life-long resident of Southeast Alaska, and recently relocated to Oklahoma with her husband and daughter. An active aircraft mechanic and inspector, Lana has grown up in Alaska's aviation industry. This background gives Lana the insight to detail each drawing down to the last rivet.
